Before I go any further, I want to talk to you about the Tresemme. When you purchase 1 Tresemme shampoo or conditioner this week, you are supposed to get one sachet for free. However, the full price of the sachet is not coming off when they are rung up. Instead of the register taking off 2 dollars for each sachet as it is supposed to, it is only taking 1 dollar off making them 50% off instead of free.
You should take this into account when you are figuring out what your out of pocket will be for your scenarios.
For this transaction, I purchased 4 of the Snuggle Scent Shakers. They are normally $4.50 but this week they are on sale for buy one get one free. At Dollar General this means that each one of them will ring up for $2.25. We have a 2 dollar paper coupon for these. I used four of them.
There is a limit of one coupon per day on these coupons. I was able to use four because at the Dollar General that I shop at they allow up to 5 like coupons no matter what the limit says on the coupon. So if the coupon says there is a limit of 1 they will still allow 5.
The next item that I grabbed was one of the Snuggle dryer sheets. These are $2 and I had a 1/1 paper coupon that I used. I grabbed two of the Schick razors. These are normally $4.50. We have two digital coupons that you can use on these. One of the coupons is $4 off 1 and the second coupon is $3 off 1. So for 2 your total would be 9 dollars and 7 dollars in coupons would come off.
I also grabbed two of the Right Guard Deodorants. The first one was a twin pack that cost 4 dollars. The second was a single deodorant for 2.50. I used the buy one get one digital coupon. However, if you do this you want to make sure that the cashier rings up the 4 dollar deodorant first. This will ensure that the coupon takes off 4 dollars and not 2.50 leaving you to pay for the cheaper deodorant.
I picked up 6 of the Tresemme as well as 3 of the sachets because that was all that my store had. I used three of the 5 off 2 paper coupon that came out a few weeks ago. I also used a paper 5 off 25 coupon for this weekend.
My total before tax was $65.50. After all of my store discounts and coupons came off my total ended up being just $11.79 before tax making each item just 65 cents each. This means that I saved 82% today.
