First of all in order to use the digital coupons that I talk about in this post you are going to need a Dollar General account. You can create this account at Dollargeneral.com or by downloading the Dollar General app.
Once the app is downloaded and you are signed in, you will be able to add coupons to your account. It is important to know that once a coupon is added to your account, you cannot remove it. When you purchase an item, if you have two coupons for the same item clipped to your account, Dollar General’s system is going to take the lowest value coupon and apply it to your item.
There are two different types of coupons on the Dollar
General Digital Coupon App. The first is a manufacturer coupon. These are just
like the paper coupons that you would get in your Sunday paper. As you can see
in the example in the picture here, they say manufacturer on them. You cannot stack
two manufacturer coupons together on the same item.For example, if you were to have two manufacturer coupons for $2 off of Tide Pods, you would have to purchase 2 tide pods in order to use both coupons.
The second type of coupon that you are going to find on the Dollar
General App is called a DG Store Coupon. As you can see in the example in this picture, there is a banner that reads, DG Store Coupon. This coupon can be
stacked with manufacturer coupons in order to lower your out of pocket.For example, if you were to have a $2 off Tide Pods manufacturer coupon and a $1 off Tide Pods DG store coupon, you would only have to purchase 1 tide pods in order to use both coupons.
Instant Savings
Right now we have a lot of instant savings deals going on. In order to use your 5 off 25 coupon with the instant savings, you MUST meet the 25 dollar threshold after all of the instant savings has been applied to the items that you are purchasing. The instant savings is not going to count toward your 25 dollars.
Spend Deals
We also have a few deals going on right now that are spend deals. What this means is that if you spend a certain amount of money you are going to receive a coupon at the bottom of your receipt for $3.00 off a purchase of $3.01. In order for this coupon to print, you MUST spend the specified amount of money AFTER all instant savings, store savings, and coupons have applied.
